Root Canal

To many, a root canal seems like a scary and painful proposition. The truth is that the root canal is far from scary and is actually a procedure that can be used to repair or save a tooth that is in severe decay or infected.

The process involves the dentist removing diseased pulp from inside the tooth. The dentist then fills in the chamber and root canals of the tooth with a bonding material and finally seals the tooth

Things the ADA list as issues requiring a root canal:

• A deep cavity.
• Repeated dental procedures.
• A cracked or broken tooth.
• Injury to the tooth.

With regular cleaning and diligent treatment a root canal can last a lifetime.
